Mental Moment-Hurricane Sandy

In Coaches, Professional & Olympic Athletes

Life is all about perspective and I get that what happens in your life is the best and worst of what happens in your life. You have empathy and sympathy for some of what happen in the lives of others but does it change anything in you? Does it change your perspective of your life?

Life is short

I know it’s a bit cliche but it is true. You never know when your time is up. Even if you diligently prepare to be safe and live through something like hurricane Sandy you could die. That is truly sad!

There is at least one lesson here. People just died in a natural disaster. They did not have a choice. Many of you are dying a slow, unhappy death each and everyday. You struggle to lose weight. You are unhappy in your job. Writers block has stopped you from finishing the last chapters of your book. Burnout stole your last audition and your chances of securing the job. Anxiety is sabotaging your ability to win the race/game. After 20 years of painting, your confidence still leaves you feeling that you are not good enough to show/sell any of your pieces…yes that is all there and it’s all very real and you have a choice about whether or not it stays.

Authenticity

Why do so many of you live in a way that is not consistent with who you know you are and who you want to be? Some of you don’t see it. Some of you don’t understand it. Some of you don’t want it to change. One of the biggest reasons is because you don’t know how to change it. The fear of not knowing how to change (something) grips up down to our very core and stops us from doing anything.

What if I told you that you have an opportunity to be happier and get more of what you want. Would you take advantage of it? Why wait until death is knocking on your door; whenever that is? Why give up an opportunity to be, have and do what’s consistent and authentic?

Alive or ALIVE

You can choose to be alive: having life; living; existing; not dead or lifeless or you can choose to be ALIVE: full of energy and spirit; lively; having the quality of life; vivid; vibrant. For some of you being ALIVE means making some life changes. It may also mean learning from your experiences of empathy/sympathy, love, compassion, joy, etc. What are the takeaways?

Although there are obstacles to getting what you want, you can have have it! I can help you figure out how to make change.

I hope this finds you safe from the hurricane!
