Mental Moment-Analytics
Practice is meant for practicing physical & mental skills: learning new skills, developing other skills, making mistakes, improving fitness, etc. If you are practicing correctly then you will be prepared for competition.
Competition is a time to compete: trust your practice, stick with what you’ve practiced and not become ‘analytical’. In competition the brain cannot interpret ‘analytics’. It will get confused with: self doubts, worries, what if, should have, etc. There is not enough time in competition to sort through and figure these things out and the brain shuts down which leads to undesirable performances.
How does this sound in your head during competition? It sounds like a room full of people yelling at you when you are trying to get something done!
Leave the analytics to practice.
