Tis the Season

It seems like 2014 has flown by. Looking back on the year, it is hard to believe that the holiday season is already upon us again. When reflecting on the year, some of us may have very mixed thoughts and ideas of how the last 12 months have effected our lives. Many people will feel like they just watched the last year fly by with really no significant change in their day to day routine. Others may have felt that 2014 was the year of change for them maybe taking a new job or moving to a new place or even starting a new relationship. Whatever the case may be, this is the time of the year where inner reflection is helpful.

The holiday season usually brings a mixture of chaos and love, which usually means very little personal time. Before 2015 is upon us, find the time to take on your own to do some reflection on your life. This is a form of mindfulness that can help achieve personal goals and even find a sense of serenity.

Feel free to use the following suggestions to guide you through your self reflection:
• What was the best thing about my year? What was the worst?
• What, if anything, would I like to change?
• What worked for me this year?
• What goals do I have for next year?
• Who were influential people for me and what role did they play in my life?
• What am I grateful for?
• What new things did I try this year? Did I like them? Are they worth bringing in to 2015?
• What was my routine in 2014? Anything I want to add or subtract?
• What can I look forward to in 2015? If nothing, how can I change that?

Happy Saturday and Happy Holidays!
