Thanksgiving

JennicaThe holiday season tends to be anxiety-proving for a lot of people who are trying to catch up on work, find the perfect gifts, and attempting to survive multiple family encounters. On a holiday that is often overshadowed by the stress of preparing a feast for the entire family or the hustle and bustle of Black Friday shopping, remember the importance of practicing the art of gratitude. Being thankful and practicing appreciation can help alleviate anxiety distracting the brain and focusing on positive aspects of life.

If you are having a difficult time managing the stress of this time of year, make a short 3-5 item gratitude list to keep in your wallet or purse as a reminder of the fact that you have something to be thankful for. This list can be as simple as having food on the dinner table tonight, sleeping in a warm bed, and being able to access a computer screen to read this blog. Regardless of what you keep on your list, taking a moment to mindfully remind yourself of the blessing in your life, will make you more productive and less stressed throughout the day.

Time to go run off that big Thanksgiving dinner….
