Finding An Edge
Large scale goals can seem unattainable and overwhelming when you are standing at the starting line looking for the finish. Many times people choose to ignore ambition and pursuit of a goal because the task seems impossible. However, doing small pieces at a time and practicing patience can make daunting situations seem much more manageable. For example, attempting to run a marathon (26.2 very long miles) seems impossible for most people. On the other hand, with the right preparation and training schedule, 26.2 miles on race day can be rather enjoyable.
To give yourself the performance edge, dedicate a small part of each day to attaining your goal. Want to become more flexible? Stretch 15 minutes each evening while you are watching television. Want to make your business more successful? Dedicate 15 minutes each day to improving your business model. It is not easy to complete the little steps; thus, most people will not be taking the same piece-by-piece improvement approach. Allow yourself the opportunity to get ahead and give yourself the performance edge you need to accomplish your goals.
