Mental Moment-Forget Resolutions

In Coaches, Healthy Lifestyles, Professional & Olympic Athletes

NewYearsResolutionThe thing about resolutions is that they usually have to do with all of the things you didn’t do in 2013, all of the things we didn’t do that were huge items and not very realistic for you: I didn’t lose 200lbs, I didn’t eat healthy everyday, I didn’t exercise everyday…so you put those on your resolutions for 2014! You feel good about putting those things on your new resolution but only for about a minute. There is an immediate sense of relief (you get to work on the things you didn’t do in 2013 in 2014) followed by a sense of defeat, guilt, overwhelm and failure (they didn’t get done last year what makes you think they will this year).

Why not take a different route this year? Here are the 5 effective steps to getting what you want in 2014!

  1. Leave the past (2013) behind you
  2. Assess what’s important
  3. Action
  4. Break the action down even smaller and think about what’s getting in the way
  5. Be realistic

Make this year different. Set yourself up for success!

Happy New Year!
